Description : The Griffon Vulture is a very large bird (adult bird length approximately 115 cm, weight 7 kg, wing 70 cm, bill 7.2 cm, tarsus 11 cm, tail 31.6 cm). Its rufous-brown plumage distinguishes it from other vultures. Its upperparts are rufescent-buff and the underparts are rufous-brown. It feeds on dead animals and their large bones. The maximum recorded lifespan of the griffon vulture is 41.4 years for an individual in captivity.
