Description : The Western Marsh Harrier is a sleek, kite-like bird that flies low with its wings held up in a V (adult bird length approximately 56 cm, wing 39 cm, bill 3 cm, tarsus 8.5 cm, tail 24.5 cm). The male differs from the female. The female is dark chocolate-brown. The perched male looks dark brown from above and dark rufous from below. It feeds on fishes, frogs, birds, reptiles, small mammals and large insects.
