Description : The Booted Eagle is a medium-sized raptor with narrow wings, long tail and pale shoulder patches (adult bird length approximately 52 cm, wing 39 cm, bill 3.2 cm, tarsus 6.2 cm, tail 19 cm). The female is a little bigger than the male. It has two colour phases. In the light phase, it looks pale buffy to umber-brown from above and creamy-white from below. In the dark phase it has pale wing-coverts. It looks dark brown from below. It preys on squirrels, rats, larks, pipits, barbets, partridges, bulbuls, and pigeons.
