Description : The Tawny Eagle is a large buff to brownish raptor (adult bird length approximately 67 cm, wing 51.7 cm, bill 5 cm, tarsus 8.5 cm, tail 26 cm). The female is a little larger than the male. The adult is extremely variable in plumage and may be any shade of brown from cream or dirty buff, through rufous to brownish-black above and below. It feeds on carrion and hunts small mammals, birds and reptiles.
