Description : The Steppe Eagle is a large buffish-brown raptor with a rufous patch on the nape (adult bird length approximately 78 cm; weight 3.6 kg; wing: 55 cm, tarsus 8.7 cm; tail 27 cm). The adult looks entirely dark brown, darker from above and slightly paler from below. It feeds on small mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, carrion and offal in the winter.
