Description : The Black Baza is a black-and-white raptor with an outstanding crest and broad white breast band (adult bird length approximately 33 cm, wing 23.5 cm, bill 2.1 cm, tarsus 2.7 cm, tail 13.7 cm). It looks predominantly black with a few white lines and bars. It feeds on lizards, frogs, large grasshoppers, mantises and other insects, occasionally small birds and bats. They are found in dense forests, typically in small groups. They can often be seen perched on bare branches of tall trees that rise above the forest canopy.
