Description : Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher is an olive-brown passerine (length 13 cm, weight 13 g, wing 7 cm, bill 1.3 cm, tarsus 2 cm, tail 5 cm approximately). The male differs from the female in plumage colours. The male looks olive-brown from above and greyish-olive from below. It has a small rufous-patch at the centre of the grey breast. Its forehead and eyebrow are white and sides of the neck are dark slaty. It has black chin and upper throat, olive-brown flanks and ashy belly gradually turning white at the vent. The female has less distinct whitish forehead and eyebrow, ashy chin, pale-grey throat and olive-brown sides to the black tail. It feeds mainly on insects. It breeds in early April-June.
