Description : The Dark-sided Thrush is a short-tailed passerine with a stout bill (length 25 cm, weight 83 g, wing 12.5 cm, bill 3.3 cm, tarsus 3 cm, tail 7 cm). It looks olive-brown from above. Its throat is white with dark brown markings on the side. It has pale ear-covert and dark malar stripe. It looks whitish from below except for its olive- brown markings on the breast, flanks, belly and buff underwing patches visible only during overhead flight. Its irises are black, bill is blackish-brown, legs and feet are plumbeous. The male and the female look alike. It feeds on insects, their larvae and molluscs. It breeds in May-August.
