Description : The Long-billed Thrush is a big passerine with an elongated curved bill, hooked at the tip (length 28 cm, weight 125 g, wing 14 cm, bill 4.3 cm, tarsus 3.5 cm, tail 8 cm). It looks slaty-brown from above and olive-brown to dusky white from below. It’s ear-covert and cheek have pale stripes. It has whitish throat with dark brown spots on the side of the throat, breast and flanks. A white underwing patch is visible in flight. Its irises and bill are dark brown and legs and feet are horny-brown. The male and the female look alike. It feeds on insects, larvae, molluscs and berries. It breeds in May-July.
