Description : The Wood Snipe is a large dumpy marsh bird with short legs and a long bill (adult bird length approximately 31 cm, weight 165 g, wing 13.8 cm, bill 6.5 cm, tarsus 3.3 cm, tail 7 cm). It looks dark brown from above and buffish or fulvous from below. It feeds on worms, aquatic insects and grubs.
