Description : The Long-toed Stint is a tiny, grey shorebird with relatively long neck and yellowish legs (adult bird length approximately 15 cm, weight 20 g, wing 9.3 cm, bill 1.8 cm, tarsus 2 cm, tail 3.5 cm). The non-breeding adult looks greyish-brown from above and white from below. It has a white supercilium and a dark eye line. It feeds on worms, insects, small gastropods, molluscs and other tiny invertebrates. It chooses its nesting site in areas with mosses, sedges, and dwarf willows. Typically, it selects a well-concealed, shallow depression on a mound of sedge or dried grass for its nest.
