The Eurasian woodcock nests on the ground in low cover and lines its nest with dead leaves and plant material. The female lays one or two white or creamy eggs with brown and grey blotches. Incubation lasts 21 to 24 days, and the chicks leave the nest immediately. They fledge after 15 to 20 days and can fly short distances after 10 days.
