Description : The Broad-billed Sandpiper is a small, stocky shorebird with a relatively long bill with a downcurved tip and double supercilum (adult bird length approximately 17 cm, weight 35 g, wing 10.5 cm, bill 3.3 cm, tarsus 2.2 cm, tail 3.5 cm). In the winter, it looks dark greyish-brown from above and white from below. It has a prominent pale supercilium. It feeds mainly on insects and other small invertebrates.
