Description : The Yellow-vented Flowerpecker is a tiny olive green passerine of the treetops with an orange-yellow vent (length 10 cm, weight 9 g, wing 5.8 cm, bill 1.3 cm, tarsus 1.4 cm, tail 3 cm approximately). The upperparts are bright bronzy-olive, except for the wings and tail which are dark brown. It has a white lore and dark malar stripe. Its white underparts are streaked with dark brown, shading to buff on the belly and with adistinctive bright orange-yellow vent. It has orange red irises, a thin slightly down curved blackish bill, and plumbeous legs and feet. The male and the female look alike. It feeds on berries, nectar, small beetles and other insects. It breeds in April-July.
