Description : The Streaked Spiderhunter is a small heavily streaked olive passerine with a long bill (length 19 cm, weight 29 g, wing 8.5 cm, bill 4.4 cm, tarsus 2 cm, tail 4.6 cm approximately). The upperparts are bright olive green with bold dark streaks. The short tail is tipped with buffish and has a blackish sub-terminal band. The underparts are whitish with bold black streaks, and a yellowish vent. It has a long, down curved blackish-brown bill. The male and the female look alike. It forages among wild bananas and flowering trees, feeding on nectar and insects. It breeds in March-July and nests in banana plants or broad-leaved trees.
