Description : The Orange-bellied Flowerpecker is a tiny passerine with an orange belly and rump (length 9 cm, wing 4.8 cm, bill 1.3 cm, tarsus 1.3 cm, tail 2.5 cm approximately). Its male is visibly different from the female. The male has a blue-grey crown, nape, wings and tail, and flame-orange back becoming more yellowish-orange on rump and upper tail-coverts. Its throat and upper breast are grey and its lower breast, belly and vent are orange. It has brown irises, thin black bill, hornblack legs and feet. The female has olive-grey upperparts except for an orange lower rump. Its throat is pale grey, the flanks are olive-yellow and the center of the breast and belly are orange. It has grey irises and reddish-brown bill. It breeds in April-May. It feeds on berries, nectar and insect.
