Description : The Tufted Duck is a medium sized duck with a crest (adult bird length approximately 43 cm, weight 750 g, wing 20 cm, bill 4 cm, tarsus 3.5 cm, tail 5.5 cm). In the breeding season, the male looks glossy black from above and white from below. It has a prominent black drooping crest. It is a gregarious bird and is usually seen in large flocks in the winter.
