Description : The Red-headed Vulture is black with yellowish-red bare skin on the head (adult bird length approximately 84 cm, wing 60 cm, bill 7.5 cm, tarsus 11 cm, tail 23 cm). The male and the female look alike. More often it feeds alone quietly on smaller carcass. It is typically found in open country, cultivated areas, and semi-desert regions. It can also be seen in deciduous forests, foothills, and river valleys. Its habitat range extends up to an altitude of 3000m above sea level.
