Description : The Black-winged Kite is a small, light grey raptor with a large black patch on the shoulder and pointed wings (adult bird length approximately 33 cm, weight 164 g, wing 27 cm, bill 2.3 cm, tarsus 3.6 cm, tail 12.3 cm). It looks greyish from above and whitish from below. Black-shouldered kites are adaptable birds found in open grasslands or valleys with scattered trees. They forage over various habitats, including grasslands, crops, and urban areas. They avoid dense cover and their numbers can fluctuate with changing environmental conditions.
