Habitat : Rivers, lakes, lagoons, haors, swamps and mudflats, shallow, open wetlands with muddy bottoms or emergent vegetation.
 
Description : The Eurasian Teal is a small duck with a short bill (adult bird length approximately 36 cm, weight 280 g, wing 18 cm, bill 3.4 cm, tarsus 2.8 cm, tail 6.5 cm). The breeding male has a chestnut head and finely vermiculated greyish body. Its most distinctive parts are yellow-bordered green ear patches. It feeds on aquatic vegetables, including shoots, tubers, seeds, etc. it generally flies in a distorted V formation.
