Description : Indian Scops Owl is larger in size, has prominent collar edged with dark brown. Its underparts finely streaked, buffish scapular spots. It is very similar to Collared Scops Owl and only voice call (frog like “whuk”) is different. The Indian scops owl is primarily active during the night, exhibiting nocturnal behavior. Its natural camouflage makes it challenging to spot during the daytime, although it may attract attention from small birds that mob it while it is roosting in a tree. Its diet primarily consists of insects, which serve as its main source of food.
