Description : The Mountain Scops Owl is a small rusty-brown bird of prey with golden-yellow eyes (adult bird length approximately 20 cm, wing 14.5 cm, bill 1.8 cm, tarsus 3.2 cm, tail 8.5 cm). It has small ear-tufts, and a pale face, the crown feathers are black spotted. It feeds on beetles, cicadas, mantises, small rodents, birds and lizards.
