Description : Hair‑crested Drongo is a sleek,shiny-black bird with a few long hairs for its crest and a broad tail with twisted up corners.It looks entirely black with a prominent blue-green gloss on the breast and back.It has reddish to dark-brown irises,noticeable slender down-curved black bill,legs and feet are also black in color.Both sexes look alike and the juvenile looks brownish with no hairs on the forehead and the breast like the adults. It measures about 25 cm (10 in) in length. The eyes are red, and the bill is black. These birds are found in a variety of habitats, including savanna, woodland, and forest edges. They are known for their aggressive behavior towards other birds, and will often mob and harass larger species to defend their territory. The hair-crested drongo feeds mainly on insects, which it catches on the wing, and will also eat fruit and nectar. It has a wide range of vocalizations, including whistles, clicks, and harsh calls, and is known to mimic the calls of other bird species. The hair-crested drongo is not considered to be threatened, and is classified as a species of Least Concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
