Description : The male black-hooded oriole has black and yellow plumage, while the female is drabber with greenish underparts and a black hood. Young birds have streaked underparts and a less solid black hood. They are distinguished from the Indian golden oriole by their black head. Orioles can be difficult to spot in the canopy, and their flight is strong and direct. They forage using foliage-gleaning, wood-gleaning, or sallying methods.
