Description : The Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher is a passerine with visible sexual dimorphism (length 14 cm, wing 7 cm, bill 1.5 cm, tarsus 1.8 cm, tail 5.5 cm approximately). The adult male looks blue from above and white from below except for the blue throat. Its forehead and supercilium are brighter blue, lores are black and the throat is dark blue. It has rufous breast, white flanks and belly and buff wash on white undertail-covert. The female has olive-brown rump, cream-orange throat, orange breast and white belly. Its lores and eye-ring are pale. It breeds in April-August. It feeds chiefly on flying insects and grubs.
