Description : The Chestnut-winged Cuckoo is a crested bird with a long tail (adult bird length approximately 47 cm, weight 70 g, wing 16 cm, bill 2.5 cm, tarsus 2.7 cm, tail 24 cm). It looks metallic glossy black from above except for its chestnut wings and white neck-collar. Its black head has a crest. It has a black tail with white tip. This cuckoo sometimes joins mixed species foraging flocks and is usually seen singly. The breeding season is in summer.
