Description : The Greater Coucal is a crow-like bird with a long, black, graduated tail (adult bird length approximately 42 cm, weight 250 g, wing 19 cm, bill 3.2 cm, tarsus 5.8 cm, tail 24 cm). It looks chestnut from above and glossy black from below. It feeds on insects, molluscs, frogs, lizards, snakes, eggs, nestlings, mice, etc. It breeds in June-August.
