Description : The Kalij Pheasant is a dark terrestrial bird (adult bird length approximately 62 cm, weight 1.3 kg, wing 22 cm, bill 3.5 cm, tarsus 7.9 cm, tail 23 cm). Its male is visibly different from the female. The male has glossy blue-black upperparts with white fringed feathers on the lower back and rump. It has an upright black crest. Its facial skin and wattle are bright red.
