Habitat : Dense undergrowths on the banks of streams in the evergreen forests.
 
Description : Rufous‑throated Partridge is a small bird with reddish pink neck. Male bird with olive brown color with reddish black spot on neck and tail region, in contrast female has black spot on neck. The partridge feeds in groups of five to ten birds and consumes seeds, plant shoots, berries, insects, and snails. When startled, it runs or flies and may perch on branches. During breeding season, which varies by location, the male builds a nest on the ground or near water, lined with grass. The female lays three to five white eggs. These birds inhabit montane forests at elevations of 1,800–3,000 metres (5,900–9,800 ft), with a preference for oak forests containing laurels and rhododendrons.
