Description : Rain Quail is a small brown bird, male female are different. Male bird blackish, head contains white and black pattern. The rain quail primarily feeds on grass seeds, plant seeds, insect larvae, and small invertebrates. Breeding occurs from March to October, with a peak during the southwesterly monsoon season starting in June. The eggs, typically six to eight in number, are laid in a scrape on the ground, sometimes under a Euphorbia or similar bush. Incubation lasts for about sixteen to eighteen days. After hatching, the chicks are capable of leaving the nest and stay with their parents for approximately eight months.
