Description : Purpul backed starling is a stocky starling with short tail and stout bill.adult male has pale grey head,nape and underparts,purplish-black hind-crown patch and mantle,white tip to median coverts and rear scapulars forming prominent white V from behind and glossy greenish-black wings with greish-white tips to inner greater coverts and tertials.female and Juvenile are duller,wing-bars and tips to scapulars are less prominent in juvenile.they are omnivorous.
