Description : The Asian Glossy Starling is a small-medium sized passerine that looks entirely glossy black (length 22 cm, wing 11 cm). In bright sunlight, its glossy plumage is remarkably iridescent, changing hues from green to purple depending on the angle of incident of light. Its irises are crimson and its bill, legs, feet and claws are black. The male and the female look alike. The juvenile is blackish brown above with a greenish gloss and buff-white below streaked with blackish-brown. Its irises are yellowish-white. It feeds on fruits, nectar and insects. It breeds in March-May.
