Description : Bay-backed Shrike is a small bird with a pale crown and maroon back.It looks variegated with black,white and maroon from above and white from below.It has a black forecrown extendeing as a mask from the eyes and ear-coverts.Th female is distinguished from the male by a narrower black band on the forecrown.Both sexes have brown irises,dark horn-brown bill,legs and feet.The juvenile is pale buffish from its underparts with distinct dark bars and pale breast and flanks are evident in them.
