Description : The Naummann’s Thrush is a dark passerine with whitish a supercilium (length 24 cm, weight 90 g, wing 13 cm, bill 2.5 cm, tarsus 3.2 cm, tail 9.7 cm. From above the male looks blackish-brown with rufous-brown streaks. From below it looks white. It has a broad whitish supercilium, dark crown and ear-coverts. Its wing and uppertail-coverts are chestnut and the tail is blackish. It has creamy throat with few minute dark malar spots, blackish-brown breast and flanks with white scales. Its underwing-coverts are rufous-chestnut to pale rufous. It has brown irises, blackish-brown bill with yellow at the base of the lower mandible and brown or grey legs and feet. The female is duller and has prominent malar stripe but less streaks. It feeds on insects and berries.
