Description : The Wood Sandpiper is a delicate small, grey-brown wader bird with a white supercilium (adult bird length approximately 20 cm, weight 52 g, wing 12.5 cm, bill 2.8 cm, tarsus 3.6 cm, tail 4.8 cm). In the non-breeding season, it looks grey-brown from above and dusky white from below. In the winter it feeds on aquatic insects, small fishes, frogs and seeds; and at its breeding ground it feeds chiefly on aquatic insects and their larvae.
