Description : The Common Greenshank is a medium sized shorebird with long, greenish legs (adult bird length approximately 32 cm, weight 160 g, wing 19 cm, bill 5.5 cm, tarsus 5.8 cm, tail 7.5 cm). The non-breeding adult looks dark brownish-grey from above and white from below. It has up-turned dark horny-brown to blackish bill with a pale greenish base. It feeds on insects and their larvae, especially beetles, crustaceans, annelids, molluscs, small fishes and amphibians.
