Description : Little Pied Flycatcher is a tiny black-and-white bird ((length 10 cm, weight 7 g, wing 5.7 cm, bill 1.3 cm, tarsus 1.5 cm, tail 4.2 cm approximately). The male and the female differ in their plumage colours. The male looks black from above and white from below. It has white spots on the black wings, white basal of the tail and broad, white supercilium from the lore to the nape. The female looks grey-brown from above and smoky-white from below. Its forehead and lores are orange-buff, wings and tail are rufescent, chin and upper throat are fulvous-olive, lower throat is white and the belly is olive-brown. Its bill is blackish-brown. It feeds mainly on insects, such as ants, beetles, etc. It readily takes berries in the nonbreeding season. It breeds in April-July.
