Description : The Indian Blue Robin is a slate-and-blue or olive-brown passerine with short fantail, long legs and large feet (length 15 cm, weight 17.5 g, wing 7.5 cm, bill 1.6 cm, tarsus 2.6 cm, tail 4.8 cm approximately). The male looks blue from above and orange from below. It has white supercilium, black lore and ear-covert. Its throat, breast and flanks are bright chestnut. Its throat is covered with black and the centre of its belly and vent are whitish. The female looks olivebrown from above and buffish from below except for the white throat flanks and belly. It feeds mainly on insects. It breeds in May-July.
