Description : The Little Ringed Plover is a small sandy-brown shorebird with a white collar (adult bird length approximately 17 cm, weight 28 g, wing 11 cm, bill 1.6 cm, tarsus 2.5 cm, tail 5.8 cm). The non-breeding adult looks sandy-brown from above and white from below. The breeding adult has a black mask and breast-band. It chiefly feeds on weevils, beetles, dipterous larvae, worms and tiny crabs. It breeds in March-August.
