Description : The Yellow-throated Laughingthrush is a medium sized passerine with a greyish brown back, black mask and yellow belly (length 23 cm, weight 56 g, wing 9.4 cm, bill 2 cm, tarsus 3.5 cm, tail 11 cm). It has an ashy-brown crown and nape, the back and wings are pale olive-brown with grey primaries, and the longish graduated tail is grey with a broad black sub terminal band and white tip. It has a black mask extending over the lores, ear-coverts and chin. The underparts are pale yellow washed olive on the flanks and whiter on the undertail-coverts. It has pinkish-brown to reddish-brown irises, blue orbital skin, strong black bill, blackish-grey legs and feet. The male and the female look alike. It feeds on insects, small vertebrates and seeds. It breeds in April-June. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
