Sandwich Tern Did you see this animal?

Scientific Name : Thalasseus sandvicensis
Family : Laridae
Order : Charadriiformes
Class : Aves
Phylum : Chordata
Habitat : Coast

Description : The Sandwich Tern is a sleek, grey waterbird with a black bill, black cap and a shaggy crest at the nape (adult bird length approximately 44 cm, wing 30.5 cm, bill 5.5 cm, tarsus 2.8 cm, tail: 7.8 cm, outer 15 cm). In the breeding season, it looks almost white except for its black cap ending in a shaggy crest. It feeds on small fish and some invertebrates. The greater crested tern breeds in dense colonies on coasts, islands, and occasionally inland near freshwater lakes. It lays one to three eggs in a ground scrape. It relies on the density of nests and nesting close to other aggressive species to deter predators. It feeds by plunge-diving for fish from the sea and the male offers fish to the female during courtship.
