Description : The Golden-fronted Leafbird is a small leaf-green bird with an orange forehead (length 19 cm, weight 30 g, wing 9 cm, bill 2.5 cm, tarsus 1.9 cm, tail 7 cm). It looks uniform green from above and below. Its face and throat are black and within this its chin, upper throat and lores are violet-blue. Outside the black it has a yellow or golden-yellow border to the side of neck and across the upper breast, and a golden-orange forehe. It has a bright blue shoulder patch and slate-green wash to the outer primaries. Its irises are dark brown, its slightly down curved bill is black, the legs are greenish-slate and feet are plumbeous. The female differs from the male by being 5 g lighter and having a duller orange forehead. It feeds on insects, nectar and berries. It breeds in January-August, varying from place to place.
