Description : The Common Redshank is a greyish bird with long orange-red legs (adult bird length approximately 28 cm, weight 120 g, wing 16 cm, bill 5 cm, tarsus 5 cm, tail 6.7 cm). In the non-breeding season, it looks grey-brown from above and white from below. It feeds on insects, worms, molluscs, crustaceans, small fish and tadpoles. Redshanks will nest in any wetland, from damp meadows to saltmarsh, often at high densities.[13] They lay 3–5 eggs.
