Description : The White-winged Tern is a small, sleek waterbird whose white head, neck and under body turn black in the summer (adult bird length approximately 23 cm; wing 21 cm; bill 2.3 cm; tarsus 2 cm; tail: 6.2 cm, outer 7.1 cm, depth of fork 0.8 cm). In the breeding season, it has a black head, neck, breast. It feeds on small fish, grasshoppers, dragonflies, water beetles, tadpoles and crabs.
