Description : The White-rumped Spinetail is a small blue-black swift with a broad, white rump-band and several spines sticking out of its tail (adult bird length approximately 13 cm, weight 13 g, wing 11.5 cm, bill 0.7 cm, tarsus 0.8 cm, tail 3.5 cm). The adult looks blue-black from above and dusky from below. It feeds on flying beetles, bugs, grasshoppers, ants and bees. It breeds in hills and mountains in February-May.
