Description : The Red Turtle Dove is a small dove, whose brightly coloured male is visibly different from the female (adult bird length approximately 23 cm, wing 14 cm, bill 1.7 cm, tarsus 1.9 cm, tail 9 cm). The male has a bluish-grey head. Its underparts are pale pink. The female is a darker fawn-brown above and darker buffish-grey below.
