Description : The Oriental Pratincole is a sleek, graceful shore bird with a fork tail (adult bird length approximately 24 cm, wing 18 cm, bill 1.4 cm, tarsus 3.2 cm, tail: 5.6 cm , outer 7.8 cm). In the breeding season, it looks brown from above and rufous-brown and white from below. The male and the female look alike. It feeds chiefly on flying insects, moths, beetles, winged termites and other larger insects.
