Description : The Sarus Crane is the tallest flying bird in the world (adult bird length approximately 156 cm, weight 8 kg, wing 65 cm, bill 17.5 cm, tarsus 32 cm, tail 24 cm). It looks pale grey above and below. It has a naked red head and an ashy-green crown. It feeds on fish, crustaceans, frogs, lizards, locusts, grasshoppers, other insects and vegetable matter. It breeds in July-September.
