Description : The Demoiselle Crane is a tall bird with showy ear-tufts (adult bird length approximately 100 cm, weight 2.5 kg, wing 50 cm, bill 6.8 cm, tarsus 18 cm, tail 17 cm). It looks grey overall except for its black head, neck, throat and upper breast. It feeds on cereal crops and vegetable matter. It breeds in May-July. The courtship display includes elaborate communal dances consisting of vigorous running, bowing.
