Description : The Great Stone-curlew is a brown water bird with a massive bill and strong legs (adult bird length approximately 51 cm, weight 800 g, wing 26 cm, bill 8 cm, tarsus 8.2 cm, tail 11.2 cm). It looks sandy grey-brown from above and white from below.It feeds on crabs, molluscs, insects, amphibians, small reptiles, fishes and eggs.
